About me

A little about who I am

I'm Lesley Jones, a registered member of the BACP. I am an integrative counsellor based in West London, working with individuals navigating anxiety, stress, and the quieter struggles that are harder to name.

My story

I came to counselling after my own experience of how transformative it can be to feel truly heard. Before training as a counsellor, I spent 30 years as a barrister working primarily with legally aided clients many of whom experienced mental health issues and intense life crises. I also qualified as a mediator working with couples to help them resolve conflicts around separation and divorce. This extensive background gives me a grounded, non-judgmental perspective on human suffering and resilience. Transitioning into counselling was a natural progression for me. My professional experience shaped not just my decision to train, but the kind of therapist I wanted to become — one who shows up with warmth, curiosity, and genuine care.

I trained in Integrative therapeutic counselling and hold a  Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in full accordance with their ethical framework

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I offer sessions in person in West London and online, so you can access support wherever you feel most comfortable.

How I work

Person-centred, at your pace

My practice is rooted in person-centred therapy — an approach that places you, your experiences, and your goals at the heart of every session. I don't follow a script or push an agenda. I follow you.

I integrate psychodynamic modalities and draw on elements of CBT and mindfulness-based approaches where they feel helpful, but always in service of what you need — not a fixed model. Some people want practical tools; others need space to simply be heard. Often, it's both.

Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly or fortnightly, and we'll always work at a pace that feels right for you. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to.

What I believe

What guides my work

You are the expert on you

I don't arrive with answers. I arrive with questions, curiosity, and the belief that you already hold the capacity for change — sometimes you just need space to find it.

No judgement, ever

Whatever you bring into the room — shame, confusion, anger, grief — it's welcome here. There is nothing you could say that would change the warmth and respect I hold for you.

Therapy is a relationship

The connection between us matters as much as any technique. I work hard to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and genuinely understood.
